
El Fanadir
El Fanadir is a well-known dive site in the Red Sea, located about 60 minutes north of central Hurghada. The site features a long, narrow reef with a gentle slope that leads to a dramatic drop-off between 20 and 25 meters, alongside a shallow lagoon with protected moorings—ideal for all levels of divers and training.
The reef is a haven for macro-photographers, offering close-up encounters with camouflaged octopuses, scorpionfish, stonefish, and lionfish. A sloping shelf lined with coral blocks sits on a sandy bottom, eventually plunging into deep waters.
The reef wall is rich with crevices and caves, home to diverse marine life and excellent for drift dives.
With its camera-friendly coral formations and favorable conditions, El Fanadir is especially popular for night diving and exploring its vibrant underwater landscape.
This dive site is suitable for all levels of divers.

Hamda
Hamda is located on the northeast side of Big Giftun Island, approximately one hour by boat from Hurghada. It features a small plateau that begins at 15 meters and slopes down to about 35 meters in depth. On either side, the plateau drops off into a steep wall that descends easily beyond 50 meters.
Currents at Hamda are generally mild, making it suitable for all levels of divers. However, if you're planning a drift dive here, experience is recommended.
The plateau is home to a variety of marine life, including moray eels, stonefish, scorpionfish, and barracudas. Lucky divers might even spot turtles or sharks.Above the plateau, schools of fusiliers, snappers, and triggerfish often swim by, making Hamda a beautiful and rewarding site for underwater exploration.

Gota Abu Ramada
Gota Abu Ramada is a medium-sized, oval reef surrounded by a shallow, sandy seabed. Located about one hour by boat south of Hurghada, it’s one of the most popular dive sites in the area and is often called “The Aquarium” due to its rich marine life.
The site’s maximum depth is around 15 meters, making it ideal for all diving levels.
The east and west sides feature beautiful coral gardens with small coral blocks rising from the sand, where blue-spotted stingrays and occasionally octopuses can be seen.
On the west side, two large coral pinnacles rise dramatically from 6 meters up to the surface, teeming with orange anthias. Look beneath the overhangs for lionfish.
Expect to spot butterflyfish, bannerfish, sweetlips, morays, barracuda, and sometimes even turtles.

Erg Sabina
Erg Sabina is located about 90 minutes by boat from Hurghada, on the eastern side of the narrowest part of Giftun Island. This small but vibrant coral reef lies between 10 and 12 meters deep and is a paradise of biodiversity—perfect for underwater photography thanks to its clear waters and colorful coral landscapes.
The northern side is the most stunning, with large coral blocks and schools of fish drifting with the current. About 50 meters further north, a smaller erg awaits, teeming with soft corals and glassfish.
Take time to explore under the coral tables and blocks—you might find some wonderful surprises.
The highlight of this site is a massive coral pinnacle covered in hard and soft corals, including brilliant fire corals. Nudibranchs, lobsters, and angelfish are often seen here.
Erg Sabina is suitable for all levels of divers.

Sha'ab Sabina
Shaab Sabina, also known as Reef Sabina, is located in the southern part of Giftun Island, within a channel between Big and Small Giftun—part of the Giftun National Park. It’s about 60 to 90 minutes from Hurghada by boat. The surface is usually calm, but occasional strong currents can occur, making it also suitable for drift dives.
Depths range from 5 to 14 meters, making it ideal for divers of all levels. Shaab Sabina is best known for its stunning coral gardens, especially its beautiful table and brain corals.
Marine life here is rich—divers may encounter pufferfish, butterflyfish, parrotfish, porcupine fish, surgeonfish, and turtles. Reef sharks, barracudas, or eagle rays are also occasionally spotted.
The vibrant coral formations and unique topography make this site truly unforgettable.

Erg Abu Ramada
Abu Ramada is an island located south of Giftun National Park, approximately 60 to 90 minutes by boat from Hurghada. The Abu Ramada dive site offers three stunning dives. Situated on the island's southeastern side, the dive features numerous pinnacles arranged closely together in a line on a sandy plateau at 18 meters deep. The largest pinnacle is home to an abundance of glassfish and lionfish, while all pinnacles are beautifully adorned with gorgonians. Erg Abu Ramada is a versatile dive site, making it suitable for divers of all experience levels. Its rich marine life and captivating underwater landscapes provide an unforgettable experience for those exploring this remarkable location.

Abu Ramada South
Abu Ramada South is located on the southern side of Abu Ramada Island and is a popular, sheltered dive site. At around 20 meters depth, divers can explore a cave where sea stars, octopuses, and lionfish are commonly spotted. To the southwest of the reef, there is a steep drop-off with pinnacles that are home to moray eels and sweetlips, along with an eel garden. Morays, blue-spotted stingrays, and Napoleon wrasse are often seen passing by. On the return to the boat, divers can glide over beautiful coral blocks where crocodile fish and schools of goatfish may be encountered. Abu Ramada South is ideal for divers of all levels, offering a rich and diverse underwater experience.

Sha'ab El Erg (Dolphin House)
Shaab El Erg is a horseshoe-shaped reef, stretching about 7 km in length, with a small lagoon at its center. Known for being a natural habitat for a large group of Spinner dolphins, the open end of the reef faces south. The site features a sandy bottom at 12 meters depth, gently sloping down to a vibrant coral garden. The reef is home to diverse marine life, including sea slugs, blue-spotted rays, moray eels, and Napoleon wrasse. This shallow dive site, reaching up to 22 meters, also offers a channel and an island with a small lagoon. The southeastern end features a stunning 8-meter deep channel surrounded by round reefs, adorned with table corals and coral blocks. Shaab El Erg is suitable for divers of all levels.

Umm Gamar
Umm Gamar is a long-isolated reef formed by an underwater mountain, near the island having the same name as the dive site and about 90 minutes away from Hurghada.Umm Gamar means Mother of the Moon, a reference to the crescent-shaped wedge of the island at the top of the reef. Umm Gamar has a plateau on the south, at a depth of 14 to 24 meters with a beautiful coral garden where you regularly spot a turtle, batfish, moray eel and also Napoleon fish. On the way to the drop-off, you can encounter amazing coral towers, full of aquamarine life, such as glassfish and lionfish.
Umm Gamar is suitable for all levels of divers.

Carless Reef
Careless Reef is located about an hour north of Hurghada and is renowned as one of the top dive sites in the area, praised for its abundant marine life and stunning corals. The reef, a mid-sea plateau, features two coral pinnacles with a 16-meter deep valley between them. The site is home to a wide variety of coral species, both hard and soft, including beautiful table and fire corals. Due to strong currents and high waves, diving is only recommended in good weather conditions. The reef is known for its population of reef sharks and large fish. Divers may also encounter octopuses, rays, turtles, and dolphins, with experienced divers able to explore caves at depths of 40 meters or more, where sharks, tunas, jacks, and barracudas are often spotted. Careless Reef is suitable for divers of all levels.

El Mina ( wreck)
The Minya was sunk by Israeli forces on 6 February 1970, though specific details of the incident remain unclear. The wreck lies on its port side at a depth of 30 meters, remaining largely intact, with the exception of the missing forward deck gun. The ship offers a fascinating dive, with divers able to explore its structure and the surrounding marine life. The wreck provides an excellent opportunity to experience history while encountering a variety of underwater species. El Mina is suitable for divers of all levels, making it a popular site for both novice and experienced divers alike. Its well-preserved condition and historical significance make it a must-visit for those interested in wreck diving.

Small Giftun
Small Giftun Island, a marine reserve for several years, is one of the top dive sites near Hurghada, about an hour away by boat. Known for its drift dives, the site offers a relaxing underwater exploration as the current carries you along. The current typically flows from the north but can vary in strength, sometimes gentle, sometimes strong. The dive features stunning coral formations protruding from the main wall, often adorned with soft corals. Look closely to spot shy longnose hawkfish hidden among the branches. Divers can also find blue-spotted stingrays in the sand, as well as turtles and giant morays. At 40 meters depth, a small cave filled with lionfish and surrounded by hundreds of anthias fish offers a spectacular highlight. This site is suitable for divers of all levels.
